Two Tank Lemon Shark Migration Dive with Shark Specialty

Saturday December 7, 2024

Trip Description

This is a two-tank boat dive open to NSU Scuba Club members who hold a PADI Advanced Open Water Certification (or agency equivalent) or higher. This is a trip that includes the PADI Shark Conservation Specialty Certification. These dives will be conducted in West Palm Beach, Florida. The reef here is known for attracting megafauna such as turtles, goliath groupers, large aggregations of fish, and during the winter, the Lemon Shark migration. The maximum depth of the dives varies between 75’ and 95’, thus making this dive available to AOW divers only. There will be an appropriate surface interval between the two dives depending on our profile.

We will be diving with Jupiter Scuba Diving on Kyalami Charters. Check-in for the dive is at 1:00pm. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the marina. For this reason, we will be departing from NSU NO LATER than 12:15 pm.

NOTE: There is a mandatory classroom session that is required before your attendance to the dive. It will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 5-8 PM. This classroom session will include a lecture that touches on topics such as shark ecology, anatomy, conservation, as well as how to safely dive with sharks without disrupting their natural habitat or behaviors.
