Beach Dive at Dania Beach Perry Street Boulders Reef

Trip Description

This is a one-tank beach dive at a local favorite dive site. The Perry Street Boulders reef is just to the south of the Dania Beach Pier in Dania Beach, FL. The reef is in about 15 to 20 feet of depth where you may find many varieties of marine life and corals.

NOTE: Due to heavy boat traffic in the area, dive flags are required for each dive group, and divers MUST stay with their dive flag.

Itinerary

  • 7:30am Gear check out at NSU Dive Locker
  • 8:00am Depart campus
  • 8:30am Arrive at Dania Beach for group briefing
  • 9:00am Dive
  • 11:00am Depart to NSU to return equipment
  • Time for gear check in will be determined by the dive supervisors after the dive has ended.

Reservation/Payment

This beach dive is free for NSU Scuba Club members. However, you will need to reserve your spot on the trip by signing up here. You may register for the trip up until 12:00pm on Friday.

Location and Parking

For the Boulders, we will park on Perry Street. This is the first one way street going south on A1A after going over the Dania Beach draw bridge. If parking on Perry Street is full, we can park on Evans Street, the next street over. Parking is $4 per hour. Both Perry Street and Evans Street have beach access. The beach access from both these streets is about in the middle of the Boulders dive site. 300-398 Perry St Hollywood, FL 33019

Equipment

The NSUADP Dive Supervisors will bring tanks. Any other equipment you need will be issued from the NSUADP Dive Locker. That is the only time to get your gear for the trip. Equipment check-in will be after the dives at a time to be determined by your Dive Supervisors.

Reminder – if you bring your own BC, regulator and/or tank you must provide proof that the gear was either purchased or inspected by an authorized dive center within one year.

If the signup is full, you may contact Kate at kh1857@nova.edu to get on the waitlist. In the event a club member cannot make the dive and notifies one of us 24 hours before the dive, the waitlist will be consulted, and you will be notified by Kate. When emailing Kate, please include "Waitlist" in the subject line.

NOTE: If you are on the waitlist and have not been reached out to 24 hours before the dive, you will not be contacted if a club member cancels.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel up to 5:00pm on Friday prior to this trip. Please contact the Dive Supervisors to let them know if you have to cancel the morning of the trip. Otherwise, contact Kate at kh1857@nova.edu to cancel.
