Beach Dive Pompano Beach Pier Clean Up

Trip Description

This beach dive is an annual beach clean-up run by local dive shop, Dixie Divers. You will receive a mesh cleaning bag, cutting shears, t-shirt and a raffle ticket. After the dive, we will go grab some lunch at some of the near-by restaurants and return to the check-in tent at 11:15am for the raffle drawing.

NOTE: Due to the abundance of hooks and monofilament line, every diver must have GLOVES.

Itinerary

6:15am Gear check out at NSU Dive Locker
7:00am Depart campus
7:30am Arrive at Pompano Beach Pier for Check-In (Dixie Divers tent south of Lucky Fish restaurant)
8:15am Group Photo
8:20am Dive the Pier
11:15am Raffle drawing

Reservation/Payment

This beach dive is only $18 for NSU Scuba Club members. However, you will need to reserve your spot on the trip by signing up here. You may register for the trip up until 12:00pm on Wednesday September 4.

Location and Parking

After grabbing gear, from the locker at 6:15am, check-in at the Pompano Beach pier is at 7:30am. Dixie Divers staff will be stationed on the south side of the Lucky Fish (200N Pompano Beach Blvd Pompano Beach, FL) restaurant to be able to drop off gear and go park in the main parking lot (3460 NE 3rd St, Pompano Beach, FL).  Please CARPOOL and arrive early!

Equipment

The NSUADP Dive Supervisors will bring tanks. Any other equipment you need will be issued from the NSUADP Dive Locker at 6:15am. Equipment check-in will be after the dives at a time to be determined by your Dive Supervisors.

Reminder – if you bring your own BC, regulator and/or tank you must provide proof that the gear was either purchased or inspected by an authorized dive center within one year.

Waitlist

If the signup is full, you may contact Kate Heffner at kh1857@nova.edu to get on the waitlist. In the event a club member cannot make the dive and notifies one of us 24 hours before the dive, the waitlist will be consulted, and you will be notified by Kate. When emailing Kate, please include "Waitlist" in the subject line.

NOTE: If you are on the waitlist and have not been reached out to 24 hours before the dive, you will not be contacted if a club member cancels.

Cancelation Policy

You may cancel any time prior to this trip. Please contact the Dive Supervisors to let them know if you have to cancel the morning of the trip. Otherwise contact Kate at kh1857@nova.edu to cancel.
