COURSE DESCRIPTION

People who dive as a part of their job or volunteer duties often need first-aid training to manage unique situations that may occur. DAN's Diving First Aid for Professional Divers (DFA Pro) course is designed for commercial, professional, aquarium and scientific divers, providing first-aid knowledge and skills specific to these work environments. It also provides rescue management skills for dive masters and dive instructors.

DFA Pro is comprised of information from the Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries, Neurological Assessment, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries and CPR HCP courses. It meets U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines for workplace CPR and first aid.

This DFA Pro instructor-level course includes:

• DAN Core Instructor Module
• DAN Diving First Aid for Professionals Instructor
• DAN Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid Instructor
• DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries Instructor

Once certified, DAN Diving First Aid Pro Instructors will be able to teach the DAN Diving First Aid Pro, Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid, CPR Health Care Provider with First Aid, Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries, Neurological Assessment, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries provider-level courses.

• Diving First Aid for Professional Divers Instructor online training
• DAN Pocket Mask
• Use of gloves, first aid supplies, manikins and AED trainer units

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE

• Comfortable clothing for kneeling

PREREQUISITES

• Active teaching status PADI Divemaster or Instructor (or equivalent)
• DAN Membership

CANCELATION/REFUND POLICY

Due to the popularity of scuba courses, instructor schedules and issued materials the following policies are in place:

• 1. No refund of the scuba course fee will be possible for any reason after the third session of the class.
• 2. Scuba Fee refunds prior to the third session of the class will be based on the following refund schedule:
• i. Prior to Class Session #1 = Full Scuba Fee minus $25
• ii. Prior to Class Session #2 = Full Scuba Fee minus $50
• iii. Prior to Class Session #3 = Full Scuba Fee minus $100
• 3. Refunds must be cleared with your instructor and final approval will come from the Scuba Department.
