The Linda Grunin Simulation Lab & Learning Center is pleased to offer this course for Monmouth University faculty, staff, and students entering healthcare settings and roles involving BLS training. Following the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, this in-person training prepares participants to deliver BLS across a variety of settings. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an AHA BLS Provider Card, which is valid for 2 years.

The following content will be included:

  • AHA’s Basic Life Support (BLS) principles and procedures for adults, children, and infants
  • Administration of CPR
  • Establishing effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Proper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants
  • Working as a team in multi-rescuer resuscitation
