This 3-hour continuing education program examines the integration of holistic healing modalities within addiction and mental health recovery treatment. Designed for social workers and licensed counselors, the training explores how mind–body and experiential interventions can effectively complement traditional clinical approaches.
The program includes an in-person breathwork demonstration led by Judy Baker and a hands-on cooking demonstration with Chef Darren Monroe, highlighting how nutrition can be integrated into recovery-oriented programming. Through experiential learning, interactive discussion, and live demonstration, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how holistic practices support nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, impulse control, and long-term recovery outcomes.
The training draws from Seacrest Recovery Center’s PHP, IOP, and OP treatment model, with an emphasis on ethical, trauma-informed, and client-centered application. Participants will also explore the role of the 12-step model in recovery and examine how holistic practices can reinforce core recovery principles. Clinicians will leave with practical strategies for thoughtfully and ethically incorporating holistic interventions into their own clinical practice.
