Summer Music Camp - July 20-24, 2026

Camp Information 

Instructors and Counselors
Camp Instructors are Monmouth University Music Faculty. Camp Instructors lead camp classes, ensembles, rehearsals, final concert, and night events.

Camp Counselors are Monmouth University undergraduate students (over the age of 18) studying Music Education, Music, or Music Industry. Camp Counselors work with the Camp Instructors throughout the camp. Additionally, Camp Counselors provide company and guidance on Monmouth University’s campus and serve as Resident Assistants in the dormitory for resident campers. A safety officer is stationed in the residence hall from 11pm-7am.

Camp Day Overview (8:00am – 5:00pm)
  • 8:00am-8:45am Breakfast for on-campus students (dining hall)
  • 9:00am-9:45am Group lessons/sectionals (Rotate throughout week)
  • 10:00am-10:45am Ear Training, Theory, Improvisation Class (Rotate throughout week)
  • 11:00am-12:00pm Large Ensemble Rehearsal
  • 12:15pm-1:00pm Lunch for all campers (dining hall)
  • 1:15pm-2:15pm Masterclass, Group Improvisation Workshop (Rotate throughout week)
  • 2:30pm-3:45pm Small Ensemble
  • 4:00pm-5:00pm Large Ensemble
  • 5:00pm Commuter student pickup

Final Concert
The week concludes with a performance at Monmouth University's Pollak Theatre and will feature both small and large ensemble performances by our campers. Family members are encouraged to attend! Attire for the final concert will be the camp t-shirt and pants.

Health Services
Health Services is available on campus Monday-Friday, 8:45am-5pm.

Medication
The Instructors, Counselors, or any member of the Summer Music Camp does not administer medications.

Please remember that medical forms are required the first day of camp to allow for participation.

We expect high standards of mutual respect and musicianship at our camps. Incidents of inappropriate behavior will be documented and discussed with a parent/guardian at first opportunity.

 

Pricing - Cost breakdown is as follows:

Early Bird Discount Camp Rates (Register On or Before May 31, 2026)
Commuter, $400 

Standard Camp Rates (Register After May 31, 2026)
Commuter, $500

Monmouth University Employee Discount

The Music and Theatre Arts Department is pleased to offer a 10% discount (limit 3 family members), to the child of any full-time administrator, staff or faculty member, to attend the Summer Music Camp's 5 days.
