Mindfulness & Meditation: Helping you and Helping others in a health crisis - Friday, Oct. 3, 2025

This workshop will be conducted live through an online platform called Zoom. The evening before the event you will receive an email with a link to the Zoom meeting, and other important information. Any updates or changes will be shared via email.

Workshop Description:

Research continues to affirm the powerful benefits of mindfulness and meditation across a wide range of emotional, physical, and psychological arenas. These practices have been shown to significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while promoting improved sleep, emotional regulation, and overall health. As the demand for mental health services increases and the shortage of licensed clinicians becomes more evident, it is essential that practitioners are equipped with adaptable, evidence-informed tools that can be implemented across various treatment settings.

This workshop will introduce accessible mindfulness and meditation-based interventions that can be integrated into individual and group interactions. Participants will gain hands-on experience with techniques designed to enhance client engagement, build emotional resilience, and support nervous system regulation. Additionally, this workshop will address how these practices can be used to create a supportive environment for colleagues through mindful communication and shared grounding exercises. Recognizing the emotional labor and burnout risk inherent in clinical work, this training will also emphasize the importance of self-care for providers. Attendees will leave with a toolkit of mindfulness strategies not only to use with clients but also to incorporate into their own daily routines.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Define the physical and health benefits of mindfulness and meditation practices.
  2. Describe two mindfulness and meditation interventions
  3. Identify the 5 sensory ways one can incorporate mindfulness and meditation.
