Introduction to Radiology & Imaging Modalities - January 10, 2025

Contact Hours: For nurses 3.0 contact hours will be provided – a certificate of completion will be provided for all other allied health professionals.

This activity is designed to enhance the knowledge of Advanced Practice Nurses or Allied Health Professionals in radiology and imaging modalities.  A focus will be on a systematic approach to reading chest x-rays.  Areas of study will include extremity evaluation with a special emphasis on acute traumatic findings and orthopedic imaging, evaluation, and assessment. 

Program content will include:

• Basic radiographic principles and techniques.
• Identification of common radiographic findings.
• Integration of radiographic findings with clinical presentations.
• Differentiation between normal and abnormal anatomy.
• Explanation and application of advanced imaging modalities including Ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Bone scan, PET scan

Desired Learning Outcome: Healthcare providers will learn skills and techniques in radiographic interpretation and apply them to practice in the clinical setting.
