This book was inspired by Margaret H. Llod’s vision to connect children to the intrinsic value of nature through exploration. This story is a guide to place-based lessons for parents and educators, a nod to Lloyd’s whimsy, and appreciation of her gift. We hope this book serves as inspiration to investigate local woodlands, and a connection to the Nature as Teacher Preserve for Education located in Camden, SC.

The Nature as Teacher Preserve for Education welcomes you for a feild trip on Monday September 30th from 9:30am - 12:00. We will explore the creek for crayfish, and learn about the important plants that provide habitat!
