Objective
This course will introduce the students to issues in survival craft encountered aboard merchant vessels and will meet the following objectives:

Any applicant who has successfully completed our Proficiency in Survival Craft (SUNYDP-372) course will satisfy the competency requirements of Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW, as amended 2010, for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSC) and will satisfy the professional examination and practical demonstration requirements of 46 CFR 12.407(b)(3) for endorsements for Lifeboatman and PSC and have performed the equivalent of all practical demonstration requirements as guided by the PSC NVIC 04-14. Applicants are not required to present completed record of assessment sheets when applying for the STCW endorsement..
Scope
This course is intended to meet the STCW Code Section requirements for certification for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Other that Fast Rescue Boats and 46 CFR Parts 10, 12 and 15. The course covers all subjects suggested in the IMO Model Course 1.23.
This course is also intended to meet the Lifeboatman certification described in 46 CFR Subpart 12.10. Successful completion of this course will qualify the student as a Lifeboatmam

This course is intended for all ratings as required by the 1995 Amendments to the STCW, section A-VI/2 and 46 CFR Subpart 12.10, Lifeboatman.
