Powerboat Training

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE: Anyone who already has their State-Specific Boating Safety Certification and is looking to learn to operate a powerboat safely and improve on-the-water boat handling skills in an on-the-water, hands-on driving course.

CERTIFICATIONS: US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certification

PREREQUISITE: None

SKILL LEVEL: All levels

AGES: 10 years and up

Tues. Feb. 4 & Wed. Feb. 5, 2025, 6pm - 10pm

Two 4-hour classroom sessions providing strong foundational knowledge for safe boating. Taught by experienced and certified instructors, this course focuses on information that will keep you safe and legally compliant on the water. Click link above for more info.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE: Anyone who’s completed Safe Powerboat Handling and wants to develop their skills; Level 1 instructors preparing for summer; anyone looking for hands-on drive time and practice with an instructor.

CERTIFICATIONS: None

PREREQUISITE: Basic boat-handling skills

SKILL LEVEL: All levels with previous hands-on training

AGES: 12 & up

CERTIFICATIONS: US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certification & NY State and NASBLA-approved equivalent to NY State Boating Safety Certification

CERTIFICATIONS: Maritime College Launch Tender license & US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Cert.

PREREQUISITE: None prior to taking the course; you must meet requirements for USCG license application

SKILL LEVEL: All levels

AGES: 17 to attend, 18 to apply for the license
