US Powerboating Powerboat Instructor Course, Spring 2026

Friday, March 6 - Sunday, March 8, 2026

Become a US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Instructor! In this 3-day course for advanced powerboat operators who will operate boats 26 feet and under, instructor candidates will learn the fundamentals of on-the-water instruction. Candidates must successfully demonstrate superior presentation, teaching, and powerboat operation skills in order to complete this course. Upon successful completion, instructors will be eligible to teach Safe Powerboat Handling courses. Waterfront Community Powerboat Instructor positions may be available via SUNY Maritime’s Human Resource Services.
