Equine Assisted Therapy and Equine Assisted Learning as adjuncts to Traditional Therapy. Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 at the Sundance Center for Personal Growth. Presented by Ulla Frederiksen, M.A.; LLP, and Cheryl Eriksen, BSW; MSW 6 Continuing Education credit hours. Training fee $125, Student rate $35, CE fee (in addition to training fee) $15. Group rate available for 3 or more persons from an organization. Prepayment required. Deduct 10% from training fee. This seminar offers a unique and experiential opportunity to learn about equine assisted therapy as an adjunct to traditional therapy. We will engage in ground activities with horses and process the experiences in a group format. The objectives of this course are: 1. General introduction to EAP/EAL 2. Understanding of the value of EAP/EAL as an adjunct therapy 3. Making appropriate referrals 4. Greater self-awareness for the professional 5. The art of clean language Western Michigan University School of Social Work is an approved provider with the Michigan Continuing Education Collaborative, approved provider # MICEC-0060. For full CE credit, participants much sign in and out, complete an evaluation, and provide their social worker identification number. CE certificates will be mailed following the event. This course is intended for human service providers in the following practice levels: BSW, MSW, LLMSW, LMSW, and social work students and interns. This event is open to the public.
