This social work continuing education workshop (3 CEUS) will provide essential tools to master the art of courtroom testimony. Participants will learn fundamentals of testifying in court, effective courtroom advocacy strategies, and procedural education. This event is open to professional social workers at all license levels and Washburn University Social Work students.

Objectives Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to do the following:
1. Identify the role and responsibilities of social workers as expert and fact witnesses within legal and courtroom settings.
2. Describe the structure and flow of courtroom proceedings and explain how social work testimony fits within direct examination, cross-examination, and judicial decision-making.
3. Demonstrate strategies for providing clear, confident, and professional testimony.
4. Apply ethical decision-making and documentation principles when preparing for court testimony
5. Increase professional confidence and preparedness for courtroom participation.

· In the event this CEU Program is cancelled for an unforeseen reason, this information will be communicated to me using the email provided.
· If there was a charge for this event, I will be refunded for the full cost in the event of a cancellation by the event organizers. Refunds are not available if I am not longer able to attend the event or if the event is postponed to a later date.

· Attendance is required throughout the duration of the event to be issued CEU credit. Attendance may be monitored through a sign in attendance sheet, virtual sign in, or virtual key word recall.
· Attendance, virtual or in-person, implies photo/video release. Videos/photos may be used in future marketing material or on social media accounts affiliated with the Social Work Department at Washburn University.
