Participants will explore the changes the common core has brought about to educators across the nation and how to infuse the standards in their daily lessons. Lesson plans, activities and assessments will be created with a focus on increased literacy and writing skills.Participants will utilize dozens of reading, writing, and note taking strategies to use with primary source reading documents. Activities will focus on aligning activities and readings to the common core standards. All participants will create a unit plan that incorporates all of the common core strategies that are analyzed in this course. This course is appropriate for all grade level social studies educators.
