Spring 2024 Dates: Every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM (12 sessions: 1/29 to 4/23)

Location: Choir Room - Music Building (Oxford Campus, University of Mississippi)
Concert: Wednesday, April 30th at Nutt Auditorium

Grade Levels: Current 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th Grade

Oxford String Project (OSP) aims to build excellent string players in 3rd through 6th grades. In addition to string classes and rehearsals, OSP students receive basic musicianship skills to facilitate their ability to read, write, sing, and harmonize. The OSP concert will highlight players' beautiful tone, musical, and technical abilities. 

String classes and rehearsals are designed to teach strings in an enjoyable, active and stimulating environment under the guidance of Dr. Armee Hong.

Add-ons

Instrument Rental (+$50) - If the student need to rent the required instrument from the UM Music Department, this rental fee will serve as an instrument use and maintenance fee. Instrument rentals will require the parent AND student to complete an Instrument Care Agreement (available when checking out instrument for the first time).

Registration Instructions

ATTENTION! Only complete ONE (1) student registration PER transaction. If registering multiple students, complete one student's registration then start the process over for the next student. This system does NOT allow entry of multiple students' information within the same registration.

Program registrations are a 3-step process (detailed below) - THIS IS STEP ONE! All steps are available from the program webpage.

  • Step 1: Pay and secure your spot.
  • Step 2: Create a Blackbuad My School App account.
    • If you already have a My School App account, please complete the account creation form for Step 2. Our office will update your checklist to reflect the new program.
  • Step 3: Complete registrations and checklist items.

Pay using the payment portal to secure your student's spot.

Step 2. Create Account
Click the link: https://umprecollege.myschoolapp.com/app/embed#inquiry/40281(or copy and paste it into your browser) to create your account. If you're a student filling out the form, please se yor personal email instead of a school-affiliated one, as many school servers block external emails. Expect to receive your account setup email invitation from 
umprecollege@myschoolapp.com within 3 business days. Follow the steps in the email to create your Admissions Portal using our Blackbaud MySchoolApp system. Once done, you can instantly check your registration checklist. 

Step 3. Complete your registration and checklist items.
Our admissions team will have assigned your program's checklist for you to complete before the program deadline. The registration will include standard questions (e.g., contact information, academic history, etc.) as well as instructions to submitting rules and guidelines agreements and medical information and forms. We recommend completing the registration checklist within 14 days of creating an account.


Please complete the registration process in the order indicated above. Registration processes for a student's initial registration should be completed within two (2) weeks of submitting payment and securing a seat in the program.

Refund Policy: Registrations may be cancelled up to two weeks prior to the selected session to receive an 80% refund. Refunds are not available if cancellation occurs less than two weeks prior to the selected session. Full refunds will be issued if the program is cancelled due to low enrollment.
