Clinical Training Description: The ADOS-2 as Part Of A Comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment
The first two days of this training include the ADOS-2 Introductory/Clinical training that provides School Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists, and related professionals with the skills necessary to utilize the ADOS-2 in clinical or school settings. On the third day, participants will practice task administration and learn how to incorporate information gathered through an ADOS-2 administration into a comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment. This workshop provides an essential step toward competence in using the ADOS-2 in practice or for research purposes. Presenters include Patty Renno, Ph.D., from UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and Jeanne Anne Carriere, Ph.D. from UCI Health’s Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Chapman University’s Attallah College of Educational Studies. Participants will gain fundamental understanding of Modules 1-4.
In addition participants will:
Describe the 5 Modules within the ADOS-2
Identify appropriate module selection according to language and age criteria
Review and recognize the standardized administration of the ADOS-2 Module 1-4
Demonstrate the standardized administration of the ADOS-2 through applied practice and constructive feedback
Score, code, and analyze live administrations of the ADOS-2
Describe components of a comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment.
Compare the similarities and differences between clinical and school-based psychological evaluations.
