On March 25, 2026, a jury held Meta and Google liable for the addictive design of their platforms - the first social-media-addiction case to reach a verdict. Behind that result was a trial team using AI in a way most firms are not. In this session, France Q. Hoang, founder and CEO of BoodleBox, and Zach Kinzler, who embedded with the trial team for two weeks, walk through the method rather than the headline: how a 150,000-document record was curated into a shared knowledge base, how the team's own judgment was encoded so the work reflected how they think, and how fifty people and multiple AI models worked one matter together instead of one lawyer at a time with a chatbot. The hour is organized around a single distinction with ethical teeth — AI generates, the lawyer discerns — and closes on the duties that follow from it: competence, supervision, confidentiality, and candor to the tribunal.
