This Isn't Your Typical OSINT Event.

USC Upstate's Upstate Crime Analysis Center and Upstate Underground invite you to the fourth annual TraffickTrace26 (formerly Hackathon).This collaborative event brings together crime analysts, law enforcement professionals, investigators, data analysts, human rights advocates, students, survivors, and community volunteers to make the internet a more difficult place for those who exploit others. Participants of all skill levels are welcome, provided they are at least 18 years of age.

Working in teams, you'll learn from subject matter experts before applying your new skills during a live OSINT investigation. Volunteers will identify leads related to human trafficking and provide actionable intelligence to participating law enforcement agencies.

What You'll Experience

Learn about human trafficking trends in Upstate South Carolina, how traffickers use the internet, and the role of OSINT in investigations.
Receive hands-on training in OSINT tools, online investigative techniques, and best practices for safe and ethical online investigations.
Work alongside a team to identify actionable leads for participating law enforcement agencies.
Network with crime analysts, investigators, law enforcement professionals, students, advocates, and others committed to combating human trafficking.

Dates: Thursday, November 5, 2026: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2026: 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

$150 per person

Two days of training and participation

A laptop
Power cord/charger
Mouse(recommended)
Access to a VPN

If you don't have access to a VPN, indicate that on the registration form and we'll send recommendations before the event.
