Orchestra with Lessons on Wed, 4:30-5:00

After completing First Year and Second Year classes, students may enroll in an orchestra with private lessons. Students who have completed a similar experience through their school orchestra program or private lessons may also enroll in orchestra with lessons.

Orchestra Options:

Concertino (Level 1)
- Students have developed the skills to consistently sight-read Grade 1-1.5 rhythms and pitches.
- Select ONE of the following rehearsal options:
  - Tue 5:30-6:30 PM (Section A)
  - Thur 5:45-6:45 PM (Section B)
Capriccio (Level 2)
- Students have developed the skills to consistently sight-read Grade 2-2.5 rhythms and pitches.
- Thursdays, 6:15-7:15 PM
Intermezzo (Level 3, Audition Required)
- Students have developed the skills to consistently sight-read Grade 3-4 rhythms and pitches.
- Thursdays, 4:30-6:00 PM
- To submit an audition, please make 1-2 min video recording of your student performing with their best intonation, tone, posture, and musicianship. Email a private link to the recording to the USC String Project at uscsp@mozart.edu.

If you are unsure which orchestra is a good fit for your child, please contact the USC String Project at uscsp@mozart.edu or indicate "unknown" on the enrollment form and the string project office will contact you.

Private Lesson Information:

30-min, one-on-one instruction each week
When you select this product, you are signing up for lessons on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:00 PM. If you would like a different lesson time, please select a different product.
Lesson times are first-come, first-served. If a lesson time is missing, it is already full.
If your preferred lesson time is unavailable, you may indicate alternate times on the registration form to be added to the waitlist.
Lessons are strongly encouraged to support continued progress and advancement within the orchestra program.
Private lesson enrollment is available in the fall semester ONLY. Students joining in the spring must enroll as "orchestra only" students.

School Orchestra Membership Policy: Students in the String Project must participate in their school orchestra program if one is available at their school for their grade level.

Attendance Policy: Students may miss no more than three String Project Orchestra rehearsals during the semester. Students who accrue four or more absences from Orchestra will be ineligible to participate in the final concert, but may continue coming to rehearsals. Students who accrue four or more absences from private lessons will forfeit their lesson time, which may be reassigned to students on the waitlist.

Tuition:

$150 per semester (Concertino or Capriccio)
$200 per semester (Intermezzo)
