Werner Herzog Documentary - "Theatre of Thought"

March 18, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Room 136 with Reception to Follow in Perrin Family Space
University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law

Join us for a special screening of “Theatre of Thought”, a captivating documentary directed by legendary filmmaker Werner Herzog. Created in collaboration with the Neurorights Foundation, the film takes audiences on a profound journey into the mysteries of the human mind — exploring consciousness, the nature of thought, and what it truly means to be human. Herzog brings his signature philosophical depth and cinematic artistry to conversations with leading scientists and thinkers, challenging us to look inward and question our understanding of ourselves.

The documentary showcases groundbreaking technologies that make the previously invisible and unquantifiable aspects of the human mind visible for the first time. This remarkable capability raises profound questions about the role of law in safeguarding privacy while still allowing for the innovation and exploration that deepens our understanding of what it means to be a person.

“Theatre of Thought” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been praised by the New York Times as a mesmerizing exploration of one of science’s greatest frontiers.

The screening will be held on March 18th at 6 PM in Room 136 at the law school. A reception in the Perrin Family Space to follow.  TechInLaw and Humanities Collaborative are proud to co-sponsor this event!

We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a thought-provoking evening!
