Mexico City – Study Abroad 2025 – SPTE 570

COURSE CREDIT:
3 Credit Hours – SPTE 570

This course will investigate the music business, concert tours, venues, and music festivals, a large aspect of entertainment management and how it has developed and is currently marketed. The course will travel to Mexico City for a visit with several entertainment representatives in Latin America, along with other venue managers and international promoters, learning about the Latin American family show market and the growing music festival scene.

Highlights:

• Attendance at a live Lucha Libre wrestling match with a guided tour of the pre-show artisan market
• Daytrip to Xochimilco (floating gardens and river boats) with a private tour
• Guided tours of: Arena Mexico stadium, Auditorio Nacional, and Palacio de los Deportes arena
• Guided market and food tour of Centro Historico (historic district) of Mexico City
• Guided tour of the ancient Pyramids of Teotihuacan
• Visit to the Chapultepec Castle (one of only two royal palaces in all North America) and much more!

Program Fees Include:

• Hotel (4-star rating, seven nights, double occupancy)
• Buffet Breakfast daily
• In-country deluxe transportation
• One group meal and two group lunches
• Entrance to all venues, lectures, and tours listed on final itinerary

Program Fees Do Not Include:

• Transportation to/from airport, airfare to/from Mexico.
• Tuition for SPTE 570 (3 credit course charged at in-state rate)
• USC global health insurance (~ $36)
• Trip Interruption insurance (recommended)
• USC Education Abroad application fee (~ $150)
• Meals, site visits and excursions not listed on final itinerary
• Passports, required vaccinations, and required medical treatment/testing/documentation
• Personal expenses and shopping

Price per student is $2750 + tuition (separate) for SPTE 570, USC global health insurance, and Education Abroad fee. Program fees are non-refundable.  If the program is cancelled by USC prior to departure, recoverable costs will be refunded.

This trip is limited to 14 participants and is expected to be filled quickly; reserve your space by submitting your first payment soon.

Reserve your space by February 24th. Please complete your application with the Education Abroad Office prior to March 1st. You must register and pay for SPTE 570 no later than May 1st, 2025.

Payment Deadlines:
1st Program Fee payment of $1375— due by January 24th.
2nd Program Fee payment of $1375 — due by February 24th.

Program fees are not refundable.
