Horseback Riding - Trail Ride | August 29 | 5 - 7pm | Lawton Stables - Sea Pines; Hilton Head

A one-hour guided trail ride through the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. You will experience a true feel of the untouched lowcountry on horseback, beneath a canopy of Palmettos and moss covered oaks. The guide will keep an eye on the gentle horses as they give insight into Island culture and wildlife. The pace of the ride is kept at a walk so that riders of all abilities can settle in comfortably and take in the beautiful surroundings.

What you need to know:

Trips are open to USCB students only.
Pickup will be in front of the Rec Center at 3:30PM on Thursday, August 29
The trail ride will be one hour, from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
Max weight limit is 240lbs.
Closed-toed shoes required (no flip flops, crocs, or sandals)
Beginner friendly
Basic health history form will be required for trip participants.

Refunds
A full refund will be issued if the trip is cancelled due to low registration, weather, or other extenuating circumstances. No-show participants will not be eligible for a refund. If the ride is cancelled for any reason by Lawton Stables, we will reschedule. If a ride is dismounted during the tour and 50% of the ride has not been completed, a rain check or option to reschedule will be offered.

Waiver of liability and release:
In consideration of participating in Sand Shark Adventures - Outdoor Recreation Program, I in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and risks inherent in such activities, do hereby covenant not to sue, and herby waive, release and forever discharge the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the University of South Carolina, its officers, agents and employees, from and against any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action, for costs, expenses, or damages to personal property, or personal injury, or death, which may result from my participation in the aforesaid activities.
I acknowledge that my participation in the above-described activities is voluntary. I understand and acknowledge that the aforesaid activities may be hazardous, that my participation is solely at my own risk, and that I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any resulting loss of property, injuries or damages, including death. I further declare that I am physically fit and capable to participate in such activities. I acknowledge and represent that I am at least 18 years of age, that I have carefully read this document and that I sign freely and voluntarily.
I recognize that this waiver of liability and release means I am giving up, among other things, the rights to sue the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the University of South Carolina, its officers, agents, and employees for injuries, damages or losses I may incur as a result of my participation in aforementioned activities. I also understand that this waiver of liability and release binds my heirs, executors, personal representatives, attorneys-of-law, attorneys-in-fact, administrators and assigns, as well as myself. I further agree to indemnify the University of South Carolina Beaufort and the University of South Carolina harmless from any loss, liability, damage, or costs including court costs and attorney's fees incurred as a result of my participation in these activities. This waiver of liability and release shall be governed by and constituted under the laws of the State of South Carolina.
I have read this entire waiver of liability and release; I fully understand it and agree to be legally bound by it.

The University recommends that all participants undergo a physical examination with a medical professional prior to participation.
