Learn useful website design tips, information and how search engines process sites
Create a free website using webs.com (a free on-line hosting service that offers tiered memberships)
Choose from several free templates that you can customize
Add your logo and photos
Connect your website to other FREE social media to increase search engine optimization (SEO), such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, blogs and glogs
Please bring your laptop to use during the seminar and electronically saved photos and logos to upload (standard .jpeg or .gif format). You will have a website when you leave and you will be amazed at how easy it was. Visit your competition’s websites to see what you like and don’t like; figure which “pages” you want and what you would like to say on each one. Before the workshop, write short paragraphs to explain your company/business, history, experience, and products. Save to your laptop so you can copy and paste and save time during the workshop. You will also learn how to edit your website as often as you need to, and you will go home with step-by-step instructions. Attendees can follow up at the SBDC for free one on one training on how to edit your website
Registration is required and the class is limited to the first 10 people who register. The cost is $45.00. You must register in advance through TouchNet to participate.
Presenter: Nancy Williamson, CBA is a Certified Business Advisor for the Newberry Area Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and helps entrepreneurs and small business owners with many facets of their business including pre-venture counseling and brain storming, business plans, loan applications, cash flow, accounting, marketing, etc. The Newberry Area SBDC offers free and confidential counseling services. Nancy is also the owner of Carolina Web Design Services LLC, and has made hundreds of websites using the simple techniques that she teaches during this workshop.
