The South Carolina Law Review is proud to present its 2025 Symposium: Making Justice Real: Exploring the Instersection of Access to Justice, the Rule of Law, and Democracy.

Join us February 27-28, 2025, as we explore the diverse ways these topics connect and influence one another, including perspectives from policy and practice. We are excited to host several leading academics and practitioners, including:
  • Elizabeth Andersen, Executive Director of the World Justice Project
  • Ambassador Sarah Mendelson, Distinguished Service Professor at Carnegie Mellon and director of its Center for Sustainable Futures
  • Governor David Beasley, Former Governor of South Carolina, Former Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Winner
  • Rebecca Sandefur, Director and Professor of Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics at Arizona State University, Faculty Fellow for the Access to Justice Research Initiative at the American Bar Foundation

Lunch Options: All lunches come with fruit salad, a pickle, and a cookie.

Granny Apple Turkey: Tangy sliced green apples, Havarti cheese, lettuce, apple cider vinaigrette dressing on top of oven roasted turkey breast, served on honey wheat bread.

The Italian:  Salami, pepperoni, ham, peppercinis, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheest and vidiala onion dressing served on sourdough bread.

Ham and Havarti: Cured ham and havarti chees with green leaf lettuce and signature sauce served on sourdough bread.

Veggie: Mushrooms, cucumbers, vine-rippend tomatoes, sprouts, roasted red peppers, avocados, lettuce, cheddar cheese, and pesto mayonnaise served on 13-grain bread.
