Zombie Preparedness Training Summer Sports Camp

Description: Watch out for zombies! Let us help you prepare to survive as we learn how to handle a variety of emergencies. Camp will include visits with local first-responders, a scavenger hunt around campus, the basics of First Aid, and building your own first aid kits to take home! PLUS, we'll even learn how to blend in as we paint our faces and learn how to walk like a zombie!

$120 per child

DAILY ACTIVITY: During the first 3 days of camp, campers will spend half of the camp on scavenger hunts around the campus learning how to utilize compasses and maps to find items that will go inside their first aid kits they will decorate on camp day 1. Campers will also learn about emergency action plans, create personalized emergency ID cards, have a safety presentation by the Odessa College Police Department, and Fire Fighters to learn about fire safety. They will also complete various safety activities and learn how to use the items in their first aid kits. On the last day of camp, campers can paint their faces like zombies and will learn how to walk like a zombie for fun. A snack break will be held midway through each camp day and water breaks will be provided throughout each day. Snacks and water are provided.


Parent Information Packet:
* All parents and guardians will receive a parent information packet when registering for the 2024 Odessa College Summer Camps! These packets must be completed and returned before the 1st day of camp.


*INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARENTS: It is recommended all campers bring a hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water. Campers will be dropped off and picked up from the Sports Center Main Lobby.

Registration Charges:
* Early Registration ends the Monday prior to each Sports Center Camp Start Date!
* Late Registrations will have an additional $15.00 added to the total per registration.

Refunds:
* 100% refund IF done up to 3 BUSINESS DAYS prior to camp start date. Any exceptions to this rule will be decided by the Community Recreation Director for Sports Center camps.
