Professional Ethics for the Licensed Psychologist

Professional Ethics for the Licensed Psychologist

PROFESSIONAL ETHICS FOR THE
LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST

Presenter:  David Shapiro, Ph.D., ABPP
Friday, March 13, 2026  ♦  9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
ZOOM Webinar

This three-hour webinar is designed to meet the biennial licensure renewal requirements for licensed psychologists. Participants will meet Florida’s mandate for continuing education in the areas of professional ethics and Florida statutes and rules (3 hours). The most recent revision of the Code of Ethics of the American Psychological Association changed in many notable ways. Many of the ambiguous terms in the previous Code were clarified, but a host of new problems arose due to some new concepts as well as new federal laws (e.g., HIPAA). This workshop will highlight some of the changes, as well as analyze how to deal with troublesome areas created by new laws. Related Florida Statutes and Rules will be addressed.
