Trip Description

projectROCK is a new style of indoor climbing facility located in Oakland Park, just minutes from Fort Lauderdale, inspired and designed with the focus on bringing the outdoor climbing experience indoors.  Climbing wall 40 to 60 feet high were hand sculpted by a team of artists to create the feel, texture and features of iconic outdoor climbing locations.  

We will spend 2 ½ hours with expert guides who will get you going on your climbing adventure.  Helmets, harnesses, climbing shoes, round-trip transportation and tips for climbing guides are included. If you have never been rock climbing or even if you are an advanced climber, there are climbing routes for every level. They even have bouldering.

Itinerary

• 8:30am Meet at Shark Fountain Circle outside of Don Taft University Center
• 9:00am Depart campus via Shark Shuttle
• 9:45am Arrive at ProjectROCK
• 10:00am Guided Rock Climbing
• 12:30pm Depart ProjectROCK and return to NSU
• 1:15pm Arrive back at campus

Reservation/Payment

This indoor rock climbing trip includes helmet, harness, climbing shoes, tip for the climbing guides and round trip transportation and is only $25 for NSU students, faculty and staff.

What to Bring

• Water bottle
• You should wear comfortable, stretchy athletic clothing that will allow you to move without restriction as you climb. All climbers must wear climbing shoes (provided). NO SHIRTLESS OR SPORTS BRA climbing is allowed and headphones are not allowed while climbing or bouldering

The Shark Shuttle will leave at 9:00am from the Shark Fountain Circle on main campus.  The Shark Shuttle will return to campus around 1:15pm.

Equipment

You will be issued all the equipment you need - a helmet, harness and climbing shoes.

Cancelation Policy

You may cancel and receive a refund prior to Friday February 16th at 12:00pm for this trip. If you cancel after that time, you may not recieve a refund if we are unable to fill your spot.  Please contact the Trip Leader to let them know if you have to cancel the morning of the trip. Otherwise contact Tec at tclark@nova.edu to cancel.
