Summer Strings 2022

The Summer Strings Camp is for students entering 4th-8th grades and is designed for string players interested in improving their instrumental skills and collaborating with musical peers. Students will join fellow viola, violin, cello, and upright bass musicians for a dynamic week of music making and camaraderie! The program will be led by award winning Millikin Faculty member Ion-Alex Malaimare and assisted by DPS teacher Jennifer Meyer. The camp will include rehearsals, group lessons, technique focus, musical games and a final concert on July 29th. The goal is to have fun with other like-minded students while building independent musical skills. Music, T-shirt and snacks will be included. Students will need to supply their own instruments and bow. Participants are asked to supply a current video of themselves playing (2021-22 School Year) so directors can assign students into ensembles prior to camp starting. Please feel free to record any piece you enjoy playing, regardless of length. For format, please send YouTube link. Please submit with registration by June 27, 2022.
