Non-Destructive Technology Camp

Non-Destructive Technology Camp

OVERNIGHT SUMMER CAMP

Curious how engineers and technicians check the safety of airplanes, bridges, pipelines, and vehicles without taking them apart? At Penn College’s Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Summer Camp, students will discover the science behind the technology that keeps our world safe.

NDT uses a variety of non-invasive inspection methods that allow experts to examine materials and structures without causing damage. These techniques are used in industries like aerospace manufacturing, construction, energy, and transportation, and skilled NDT technicians are in high demand nationwide.

During this hands-on camp experience, students will work alongside experienced faculty at Pennsylvania College of Technology in interactive labs and workshops, learning how modern inspection technologies are used in real-world settings.

Campers will explore topics such as:
  • Welding
  • Metallurgy
  • Ultrasonic testing
  • Radiographic testing
  • Magnetic particle testing
  • Robotics
Students will gain practical technical skills, problem-solving experience, and exposure to high-tech career pathways. By the end of the camp, participants will better understand how critical safety inspections are performed and how they could be part of this growing field.
