2024 Edinboro Fighting Scots Swim Camp
 

Workout Camp (12 and up)
 June 23-27, 2024
 This camp is designed to provide two high quality workouts per day in addition to instruction in all areas of competitive swimming including, but not limited to: starts, turns, stroke technique, dry land training, diet, and attitude. Each swimmer will have the opportunity to have their strokes videotaped and analyzed. Anyone who has participated in a moderate to heavy yardage program is eligible to attend.
 
Stroke Technique Camp (All Ages)
 June 23-27, 2024
 This camp is designed to provide each camper with an enjoyable camp experience and to learn more about swimming. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff will instruct campers in all areas of competitive swimming including, but not limited to: starts, turns, stroke technique, strength training, diet, and attitude. There will be two water workouts a day plus classroom time. Each swimmer will have the opportunity to have their strokes videotaped and analyzed. Anyone ages 9-18 years with competitive swimming experience in a USS club, school team, summer club, YMCA, or any organized swim team is eligible.
 
Camp Rates - This fee includes the camper’s housing, meals, a camp T-shirt, camp book, and video. There is a $100.00 registration deposit that will be applied to the cost of the camp.
 - Resident - $350.00
 - Second Child in Family - $315.00
 - Team of 8 or more - $315.00 each
 - Commuter - $250.00*
 *Lunch & Dinner provided, NO HOUSING
 
General Information - 

1. Campers assigned according to preference on registration.
2. Enrollment will be limited each week to Stroke - 42 and Workout - 30.
3. Group discounts will be given to teams that send 8 or more individuals.
4. Activities include, but not limited to movies, basketball, soccer, and kickball.
5. A camp picture will be provided at the conclusion of camp.

During camp, our goal as coaches is to improve your child’s technique to the best of our ability and their ability and to provide them with new information about swimming. All campers will be under 24 hour supervision by camp counselors, which include current Edinboro swim team members, trained in basic lifeguarding and first aid. All camp staff have current clearances.
 
Location - PennWest Edinboro is located 15 miles south of Erie, PA and conveniently located two miles off Interstate 79.
 
Residence Halls - Campers will be housed in suite style facilities with air conditioning located near the pool.

Natatorium Features -

• Six 7-foot lanes in a 75' x 42' area with 40' x 40' attached diving well.
• Four underwater windows for videotaping strokes, starts, and turns.
• Colorado Electronic Timing System with 7 foot touchpads.
• Three Power Racks
• New Spectrum starting blocks with adjustable wedge and backstroke wedge.
• Kiefer "non-turbulence" lane lines and the pool is guttered for fast times.

Camp Staff -

• Chris Rhodes is currently in his 22 year as head men's and women's swim coach at Edinboro. Rhodes swam at Oil City H.S. and Edinboro achieving All-State and All-American status. In 2007, he was named PSAC Women's Coach of the Year. He has coached a three time national runner-up, Olympic Trail qualifier, and numerous All-PSAC performers.
• Max Niggel, former Edinboro swimmer and current Head Swimming and Diving coach at Allegheny college, will be returning for a 12th year. While at Edinboro, he was a school record holder and 2009 PSAC Freshman of the Year.
• Kelsey Regan, former Edinboro Assistant and current Youngstown State Assistant, will return for her second year.
• Katelyn Kopacko, current Edinboro Assistant and school record holder in the 50 free will be on staff.

All campers must purchase either the Stroke or Workout Swim Camp Registration and Deposit in order to reserve the camper’s place in camp. If you would like to pay for the full balance at the time of registration, please also add the Swim Camp Balance Payment to your cart. The balance payment is due prior to the start of the selected camp.
