About Coach Dietrich:
Coach Jamison Dietrich is entering his fourth year as the Head Cross Country Coach and Director of Track and Field at Edinboro. In three years with Edinboro, Coach Dietrich has coached 15x All Conference, 9x All-Region, and 3x All-Americans runners. In 2024, Coach Dietrich coached Kylie Anicic to school records in the 5k-16:14 and 10k-33:25. Anicic’s 10k time of 33:25 broke the PSAC Conference record and was the 15th fastest time ever run in Division 2. In 2025, Edinboro’s women finished runner-up at PSAC XC Championships after losing the tiebreaker for first. The women went on to qualify for the NCAA Championships where they placed 28th and were the highest finishing team in Pennsylvania.
Dietrich came to Edinboro from Bismarck State College where he served as the head coach for both the cross country and track & field squads. While there, he created the cross country and track programs. In his first season at the helm, the brand-new Mystics program had three All-Americans.
Prior to his time at Bismarck State, he served on the coaching staff at his alma mater the University of Mary. He spent a year as a graduate assistant before being elevated to Head Cross Country Coach.
In that season as the head coach of the Marauder program, Dietrich helped the women to a 10th-place finish at the national championships with the top finisher coming in at an All-American finish of 17th. The Marauder men had their best season in school history placing second at the conference championships and sixth at the regional meet. During the track season Dietrich’s athletes broke school records in the women’s 800m and men’s 3,000m. Elizabeth Acheson qualified for the indoor national meet in the 800m running 2:10.72. Taylor Hestekin had an All-American finish in the mile running 4:48.04. Two different men broke the school record in the 3,000m running 8:24.10 and 8:23.28. Dietrich’s women also set the indoor national D2 record in the 4x800m relay running 9:06.60.
Prior to the University of Mary, Dietrich coached at Century High School in Bismarck, ND for three years. During his time with Century high school, his teams won 4 state championships and produced 6 individual or relay state champions.
Dietrich graduated from the University of Mary with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He was awarded “Outstanding Research Award” for his work on the effects of arch stiffness and foot length on running economy in collegiate distance runners. Coach Dietrich holds certifications as a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and USTFCCCA Endurance Event Specialist.
