Embrace the Tartan Spirit at the Edinboro Kilted Mile – an enduring Edinboro tradition with its roots tracing back to the inaugural Highland Games and Scottish Festival in 1993. The Kilted Mile is a race that welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels, embodying the spirit of inclusivity and competition.
The racecourse follows an out-and-back route, commencing and concluding at the crosswalk on Meadville Street, nestled between The Hotel Bar and Flip Café. Even if you can't join us in person for Homecoming, fret not – we're thrilled to offer a virtual option, ensuring everyone can be part of the experience.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 12, when the excitement unfolds. Registration and check-in kick off at 9:00 a.m. on Meadville Street, adjacent to the Hotel Bar and Flip Cafe. Registrations wraps up at 9:50 a.m., allowing ample time for race preparations. Race heats will begin at 10:30 a.m. Heat schedules will be emailed prior to race day.
People who race in person have a chance to win a special Edinboro Track and Cross Country hoodie in four categories: Men's, Women's, Men's Wheelchair, and Women's Wheelchair. Young runners are included in the Men's and Women's Divisions. Only in-person winners get prizes. Although virtual times won't be documented, we encourage virtual participants to share snapshots with us.
If you're joining us in person, you'll get your gift when you check in. If you're racing virtually, we'll mail your items after the event. Adult registrations receive an event shirt, and kids get a fun race swag bag. Kids are welcome to sign-up as an adult to receive a t-shirt. In order to receive a t-shirt, you must be registered by the end of the day on Friday, October 4.
Taking part costs $20 for adults, and kids 13 and under pay just $5. All the money we raise helps support Edinboro's Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
***If you're a current student, Rec Sports is paying for the first 50 students who sign up in the weight room in Pogue***
