In this creative class, students will learn the fundamentals of chess while exploring the art and design behind the game. Using strategy, math, and maker skills, participants will discover how each chess piece moves and works together, then bring their own ideas to life by designing custom pieces and building a personalized chessboard. Each student will leave the class with both the confidence to play and a one-of-a-kind chess set they designed themselves. Age Range: Entering 1st-3rd Grades
