In this professional development webinar, Dr. Sarah Jerasa & Nicole Ferguson will provide new ways to examine multimodal spaces and tools used to construct meaning in writing. Based on their research on digital literacies and #BookTok (the TikTok sub-community for readers), Dr. Jerasa and Nicole will highlight the multimodality compositional moves and ways individuals use remixing as a powerful writing tool. Participants in this session will create their own multimodal written piece and leave with strategies to use in their classrooms. This session is appropriate for teachers K-12.

Who is your audience? As writers we often must consider our reader, but do we often consider our audience’s identity or discourse? Beyond just text, how can we use multimodal tools or digital spaces to engage with communities of practice or discourses? In this webinar, Dr. Sarah Jerasa and Nicole Ferguson will walk participants through ways to reframe their own lessons to consider how audience can be at the forefront of their writing. This session is appropriate for teachers K-12.
