This is a guide for identification of weeds in the southern United States and is designed for managers responsible for golf courses, lawns, roadsides, recreational areas and commercial sod production. The book is organized into two major sections: (1) Grass and Grass- like Plants and (2) Broadleaf Plants. There are photographs and a description of each plant. Descriptions include appearance, form of vegetative structures, life cycle, floral and reproductive structures. Weeds are presented alphabetically by family and scientific name within family. Common names are also presented.

This 208-page book includes 436 color photographs, drawings of diagnostic grass structures and broadleaf plant leaf characteristics, a glossary of taxonomic terms, index to scientific names, and index to common names.
