Mountains in North and South Carolina. His other photography books are "The Blue Ridge Escarpment," "The Blue Wall," "Mosaic" and "Cycles of Nature." Garton, recently retired from Duke Energy's Environmental Department, was the guide and author for this book on the Clemson Forest.

Quiet Reflections captures the beauty of Clemson's 17,500-acre experimental forest, the largest such forest in the nation adjacent to a university campus. The Clemson Forest is home to more than 195 species of birds and 900 species of plants and has been designated as an important bird area by the National Audubon Society.
