Post-Construction BMP Inspector

Post-Construction BMP Inspector

The online course will run October 28, 2019 to December 20, 2019. There is a required in-person field day at Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

The purpose of the Post-Construction BMP Inspector program is to train professionals in methods and strategies for conducting routine and thorough inspections of post-construction stormwater management practices. Areas to be covered include technical elements of stormwater management practice function and performance, as well as scheduled maintenance tasks that are required to ensure these installed practices are working as intended. Stormwater BMPs to be covered include: wet and dry ponds, stormwater wetlands, bioretention and infiltration practices, manufactured devices, underground detention, swales and buffers, parking lot BMPs and permeable materials, rainwater harvesting, and green roofs.

As a "hybrid" course combining online and face-to-face learning, it will incorporate self-paced online lectures, videos, discussion, and quizzes, along with in-person inspections of BMPs in the field.
