Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Certification Exam Information
The Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of Texas residents by establishing and enforcing professional standards for fire service personnel.
To qualify for the exam, you must:
Complete a TCFP-approved training program
Pass all required skill evaluations

To schedule the Structure Firefighter Exam, contact UTRGV Testing Services. Payment is accepted only after your exam date is confirmed by staff.
Arrive 15 minutes early to: UTRGV Testing Services 101 Saint Joseph Drive, Suite 100. Brownsville, Texas 78520 ( The Brownsville Test Center is not located at UTRGV's Main Campus)
Bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license or school ID)
No phones or electronics allowed in the testing room
Exam Fee: $30 (covers one attempt)
No refunds
No transfers (exam date, time, or location cannot be changed)
Scores posted in your FIDO account within 24 hours
