The Texas Commission on Fire Protection is to aid in the protection of the lives and property of Texas citizens through the development and enforcement of recognized professional standards for individuals and the fire service.
To qualify for the commission’s state certification examination, the candidate must complete a commission-approved training program and pass all commission-designated skill evaluations when applicable.

Structure Firefighter Exam: If you would like to schedule your Structure Fire Fighting Exam, please contact our office. You can complete your payment only if a Testing Services staff member has confirmed your exam date.
ON DAY OF EXAM, YOU MUST: 1) Report to UTRGV Testing Services located at: 1407 E Freddy Gonzalez Dr, Edinburg, TX, ECESS Bldg. RM 1.102 at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. 2) Bring photo identification preferably driver’s license or recent school ID 3) Do not bring cellular phones or other electronic devices; they will not be permitted in the testing room. 4) Test Fee is for one exam/attempt.
EXAM FEE: 30.00 REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds for TCFP Exams. TRANSFER POLICY: Fees for this exam are non-transferrable, including exam date, time, or location. SCORE REPORTS: Results will be posted within 24 hours of the exam in your FIDO account.
