The Texas Commission on Fire Protection is to aid in the protection of the lives and property of Texas citizens through the development and enforcement of recognized professional standards for individuals and the fire service.

To qualify for the commission’s state certification examination, the candidate must complete a commission-approved training program and pass all commission-designated skill evaluations when applicable. 

Online Testing Eligibility is required.

Structure Firefighter Exam: If you would like to schedule your Structure Fire Fighting Exam, please contact our office. You can complete your payment only if a Testing Services staff member has confirmed your exam date. 

ON DAY OF EXAM, YOU MUST:

1) Report to UTRGV Testing Services located at: UTRGV at St. Joseph's Academy - 101 Saint Joseph Drive Suite 100. Brownsville, Texas, 78520. Please arrive to the Testing Office at least 15 minutes before your testing time. Candidates will not be allowed to test 15 minutes after start time.
**DIRECTIONS** Traveling South on Highway 77/83 in Brownsville, use the left lane to take the ramp onto I-69E S/US-77 S/US-83 S. Take the exit towards 6th Street. Merge onto S Expressway 83/Frontage Rd. Turn left onto Palm Blvd. Follow Palm Blvd to CALLE RETAMA and turn right. Your destination will be to the right. Turn right to St. Joseph Drive. UTRGV at St. Joseph Academy and Parking will be to the left.
************************ IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION******************
A temporary visitor parking permit is required, please come into the Testing Office to receive your temporary permit. Our Testing Office is located in Suite 100.

2) Bring photo identification preferably driver’s license 
3) Do not bring cellular phones or other electronic devices; they will not be permitted in the testing room.
4) Test Fee is for one exam/attempt.

EXAM FEE: 30.00

REFUND POLICY: There are no refunds for TCFP Exams.

TRANSFER POLICY: Fees for this exam are non-transferrable, including exam date, time, or location.

SCORE REPORTS: Results will be posted within 24 hours of the exam in your FIDO account.
