Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition & Stabilization (PEARS) Training

This is an American Heart Associations (AHA) Course that bridges the gap of knowledge for those healthcare providers who are not routinely exposed to critically ill children. The primary objective is the PREVENTION of cardiac arrest or respiratory failure of the pediatric patient. The course will use video, group discussion, and simulation to help with:

• Pediatric assessment
• Recognition and management of respiratory distress and failure
• Recognition and management of shock
• Respiratory and circulatory management
• Resuscitation team concept and
• Chain of Survival

Upon successful completion of the course the participant will receive an AHA PEARS card valid for 2 years.
