Design Skills Workshop

This six day workshop introduces incoming students to basic skills in drawing, fabrication and digital platforms that will be critical in their education. Lunch and snacks will be provided each day of the workshop. More information about each section can be found below.

Drawing Module: Students will work between free-hand drawing and computer drafting, create a multi-view drawing (plan, section, and elevation), and work with shade and texture.

Digital Module: Students will be introduced to multiple software programs used in the first year curriculum. Students will become familiar with CAP computing facilities, and proficient in digital platforms required for course participation.

Fabrication Module: Students will become oriented with the CAP fabrication facilities and will be asked to produce small models. Students will complete the safety trainings for the building and the fabrication labs, and become proficient with basic tools.
