Supported Single-Chapter Trial

Explore the Waves chapter with an expert-led virtual kick-off, personalized support throughout the implementation, and optional activities for graduate credit to enrich your professional learning (at no additional cost). Through the Single-Chapter Trial, students will engage in the PEER Physics phenomena-driven and three-dimensional waves unit. Students develop principles of sound and light, applying them to an Anchoring Phenomenon focused on cell phones and communication. They create evidence-based models of sound waves, compare wave characteristics for sound and light, and deepen their understanding of light through concepts like interference and photons. Participating teachers experience three-dimensional instruction and how to authentically incorporate NGSS ideals in their science courses. All PEER Physics Chapter W curricular resources used during the single-chapter trial may be accessed by participants following the trial.
