Periodontics Coding and Insurance

The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine Division of Periodontics is pleased to present the Periodontics Coding and Insurance Workshop in collaboration with the American Academy of Periodontology. This workshop will educate attendees about dental coding relevant to a periodontal practice. This course will identify the typical procedure codes submitted in conjunction with treatment provided by the periodontist, including: exam codes, radiograph codes, non-surgical perio codes, surgical perio codes, case examples, tips for what needs to be sent with claims to insurance companies, etc.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
• Apply American Dental Association CDT codes properly for dental insurance submission.
• Identify what procedure codes need documentation and attachments when submitting claims.
