Research Roadshows Travel the State to Engage Older Adults in Research

COAHEC 2023 Networking Education and Research Conference session: "Research Roadshows Travel the State to Engage Older Adults in Research" presented by Jodi Waterhouse, MHA and Kathryn Nearing, Ph.D., MA. Recorded on September 23, 2023. CME Credit available through September 2024. One CME will be awarded after completion and submission of post session survey.

Older Adults are one of the most underrepresented populations in research and yet are quite often the beneficiaries (or not) of what research is producing through new medications, innovations, and treatments. When a population doesn't participate in research, how can we guarantee that the research outcomes are appropriate for an older adult population, and how will these outcomes directly impact our ability to age well? This session will share a CU Anschutz Multidisciplinary Center on Aging trailblazing initiative to create intergenerational research teams and engage more older adults in research participation to ensure outcomes are appropriate for successful aging.
