This course is offered over two weekends at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado (13065 E. 17th Avenue, Aurora, CO):

• February 19-21, 2027: Friday, 1:00pm - 5:00 p.m. Saturday, 7:00 am- 5:00pm, Sunday, 7:00am - 12:00 p.m.
• February 26-27, 2027: Friday, 1:00 pm - 5:00 p.m, Saturday, 7:00 am- 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility: Participants must have at least one year of dental assisting experience to register.

Attendance at all lectures and hands-on clinics is required. Participants must successfully complete the course and earn a passing grade to receive a Certificate of Completion.

We designed our course to upgrade the skills and knowledge of the Expanded Function Dental Assistant, and to make them a more valuable member of the dental health team. Our EFDA course covers small to moderate sized restorative procedures.  The multiple lectures and hands-on exercises prepare participants to perform advanced restorative procedures:

• Prepare participants to understand and use a variety of materials and techniques needed to provide more advanced restorative procedures
• Allow time and repetition of skills to acquire and achieve proficiency in these more complex dental procedures
• Completion of this course and its lectures/exercises provides immediately able to apply abilities

Why bring your own materials and instruments?
You will learn most effectively by practicing with the same materials, instruments, and systems you use in your office every day. Using your own equipment helps you build confidence and develop skills that transfer directly to clinical practice.

The University will provide only basic instruments and materials needed to complete the course. To maximize your learning experience, please bring the following:

Required Items 
•    Eye protection and loupes (if you use them)
•    Scrubs (optional)
•    Your office’s composite system and composite dispensing gun
•    Your office’s bonding system
•    Your office’s composite placement instruments 
•    Your office’s composite polishing system
•    Your office’s composite matrix system
•    Your office’s provisional restoration material (bis-acryl) and dispensing unit

Bringing your own materials ensures hands-on experience with the products and techniques you use in practice, making it easier to apply your new skills immediately upon returning to your office.

Cancellation & Refund Policy: 
Cancellations received on or before January 19, 2027 will receive a full refund, less a $50 administrative fee.
Cancellations received between January 20 and February 12, 2027 will receive a 50% refund.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after February 12, 2027.

There is a maximum of 15 registrants for this course. Registration deadline is February 18, 2027.

Please note that there is a minimum participation of 10 registrants to hold this course. If the course is cancelled, registrants will receive a full refund.
