Investigating Food and Land

Examine artifacts, plant and animal remains, and maps of archaeological sites throughout an area of the Great Basin (this volume). Students use maps, data collecting, and analysis to explore how they get their food today and how people got their food in the past. Students design a menu featuring locally available ingredients. Fulfill requirements in science, social studies, and language arts. The curriculum supports the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
