Thank you for entrusting your work with Pictures of the Year International. We are celebrating 81 years of photojournalism excellence!

After completing your payment, you will receive a receipt that includes a 14-digit reference code and URL link to upload your entry via Picter.com. You will be required to create a free Picter account if you do not already have one.

The mission of POY is to honor photojournalistic excellence, come together as a community through the competition and preserve an inspiring record of visual history that shares the value of photojournalism with students and the public. It is a tax exempt, not-for-profit program at the University of Missouri. 
 
Your entry fee pays for our administration cost, but primarily supports student employees. For decades, POY has employed students to manage the contest. Many receive a stipend and free tuition. Your entry fee paves the way for their career!
 

At its heart, POY is an educational program that connects students to the profession and shares the value of photojournalism through open competitions, exhibitions, and events. We hold to the words of POY founder Cliff Edom, “Show truth with a camera.”

We will host POY virtually and livestream the judging from Feb. 5 through Feb. 27, 2024.
